How to Install Wave Executor on Windows
A complete, step-by-step walkthrough for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Includes download verification, installation, first launch, and common troubleshooting.
Before You Install
Before running the installer, make sure you have:
- A Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC (64-bit)
- Administrator access to your machine
- At least 200 MB of free disk space
- Roblox client installed and up to date
- Your antivirus configured to allow the installation folder (optional, read the safety center first)
Step-by-Step Installation
Download the Installer
Go to the download page and get the latest version. Save the .exe file to a folder you can easily find, such as your Downloads folder.
Do not download from third-party mirror sites. Use the direct CDN link on our download page to ensure you get the exact file whose hash we publish.
Verify the SHA-256 Hash
Open PowerShell by right-clicking the Start button and selecting Terminal (Admin) or Windows PowerShell (Admin). Run:
Get-FileHash "$env:USERPROFILE\Downloads\wave-executor-NEW-1.5.5.exe" -Algorithm SHA256
Compare the output to the hash on the download page. They must match exactly. If they do not, delete the file and download it again.
Run the Installer as Administrator
Right-click the downloaded .exe and select Run as administrator. This ensures the installer can write to protected folders if you choose the default install location.
If Windows SmartScreen displays a warning, click More info and then Run anyway — but only if you have already verified the SHA-256 hash in step 2.
Choose Install Location
The default location is C:\Program Files\Wave Executor\. You can change it to any folder with at least 200 MB of free space.
If your antivirus is aggressive, installing to a custom folder outside Program Files (e.g., C:\Wave\) can reduce false positives. Only do this after reading the Safety Center.
Finish the Setup Wizard
Follow the on-screen prompts. The installer will create a desktop shortcut and register Wave Executor in your Start menu. This takes about 30 seconds.
Launch Wave Executor
Double-click the desktop shortcut or search for Wave Executor in the Start menu. The main window should open with the script editor visible.
On first launch, you may be prompted to select a theme and choose a scripts folder. Defaults are fine for most users.
Attach to Roblox
Launch Roblox and join any experience. Then click the Attach button in Wave Executor. If the attach succeeds, the status indicator turns green. You can now load and execute Lua scripts.
See it working before you install.
A terminal-style preview of the install flow — verify the SHA-256 hash, then launch the installer with administrator rights.
After Installation
Once Wave Executor is installed and running:
- Load scripts from your scripts folder or paste them directly into the editor
- Use the Execute button to run the current script
- Save frequently used scripts as .lua files for quick access
- Check the changelog periodically for updates
Common Installation Issues
The installer closes immediately after launching
Your antivirus likely quarantined the file. Check your antivirus quarantine, restore the file, then verify the SHA-256 hash before running again.
"Windows protected your PC" SmartScreen warning
This is expected for unsigned binaries. Click More info → Run anyway after verifying the hash. Do not proceed if the hash does not match.
Installation fails with error 0x80070005
This is a permissions error. Run the installer as administrator and ensure your user account has write access to the chosen install folder.
Wave Executor launches but can't attach to Roblox
Make sure Roblox is fully loaded into an experience before clicking Attach. If it still fails, run Wave Executor as administrator. See the troubleshooting guide for more.
Roblox updates and Wave Executor stops working
Roblox updates can break script executors temporarily. Check the changelog for a new release. Do not use outdated versions — they may not attach correctly.
Uninstalling Wave Executor
To remove Wave Executor from your system:
- Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps
- Search for Wave Executor
- Click the three-dot menu and select Uninstall
- Follow the uninstaller prompts
Leftover files may remain in your user profile scripts folder. You can safely delete them manually.
